The animation really looked great. I'll definitely check it out on Blu-Ray (speaking of; The Lion King, Disney? kthxbai).

I'm kinda all over the map when it comes to my preferences. I consider Franco Urru, Karl Moline, Stephen Mooney and Pia Guerra as my favorite comic artists, and all 4 have completely different styles from each other. Urru and Moline go for more stylized work, where Mooney can nail a likeness almost every time (I don't really care much about likenesses though, as long as I can still tell who the character is), and he also uses heavy blacks and shadows. So I guess I like all types of comic art. If it looks good (to me), I'm a fan. And Paul that artwork of The Hulk is beautiful!

Jenny Frison posted a higher quality version of her cover on her deviantART page: Such a great cover.

Well it's unclear how long the arcs will last (although I think I read somewhere that The Crown Prince Syndrome will be 5-6 issues). No idea how long Immortality for Dummies will last, or if the name will change later on. Probably won't get a good idea until we get a few more solicits or some info from Ryall or through interviews or something.

I absolutely love Karl Moline, so he gets my vote. His work never fails to impress me. I am also a big fan of Pia Guerra, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing her give the series a try (or Moline as main Season 9 artist and Pia handeling one-shots).
If Jeanty returns, that is fine too, but I am a much bigger fan of what Moline has done with the series than Jeanty (the art in TOYL is some of the best comic art I have seen, period).

Does it seem to anyone else like all of their posts don't count? I can post ten times in a night and it seems like my post count only raises by like two and three. Perhaps I don't understand something about how it works. Are you posting in the Slayer Stadium a lot? Those posts don't count since they are just forum games.

My shop didn't get it in and they've been dead on for all the Angel/ Idw stuff. The owner said maybe it would ship next week. Not very reassuring of its release this month unless anyone else got it? I got it at my shop.

Is it sad that I watched it simply because I heard Alexis made an appearance (and about a 10 second one at that)?
I'm thinking definitely.

I liked the Elementals... especially the Mathematics one who weeps numbers and symbols. And I liked Aluwyn's motley crew of spirit friends/allies. I agree. Like Saga, the Elementals were made a bit more 3-D as well, which was very cool. Saga's team was also neat. I really liked the ending when the fly thing showed up and Saga yelled at it. Joss really introduced a ton of great characters in this issue, and heavily fleshed out those we have seen before. Not bad for a one-shot. I do wish we were getting more though.

Wyn, I think the point of this issue was to set-up the Aluwyn/Willow relational dynamic. And I've got one thing to remind you of - Kennedy died. But only for a little while. Now remember how Aluwyn was trying to get her henchmen to corner Willow so she could ally with the "most powerful witch of her time"? How much you wanna bet that Aluwyn is the reason Kennedy died and the reason that Kennedy is now alive? And that Willow is in her debt? If true, it will be interesting to see how this plays out. Saga was established pretty quickly to be an untrustworthy character, and even though Willow realizes that and accepts it (and encourages it, by choosing Saga), this could all blow up in Willow's face eventually. Not knowing what someone is planning or what an ultimate goal is because everything they say is a lie...well it's almost like jumping into a bottomless lake where anything could be waiting at the bottom.

I can already tell, after reading this, that this issue is going to have some polarizing opinions. There are things it did well, and things that didn't quite work.
So what worked? For me, Saga Vasuki (a.k.a. Aluwyn) finally became a 3-dimensional character. She has a personality, a more fleshed out history, and was very much humanized in a lot of respects. The reasoning for Willow choosing her over a more traditional guide was also excellent, since it mirrors the fact that Willow has never been a traditional witch in the first place.
Some will consider this a fault, but it is nice to know that Tara is 100% officially dead and buried. She was literally wiped away in this, and I'm happy for it. I never wanted Tara to return, and Willow being the one to put the kibosh in the possibility and fan speculation was pretty much awesome.
I say this a lot, but I love Moline. As with TOYL, I could stare at his art all day long. His style worked very well for this, as he is a bit more abstract and stylized than Georges, and this issue was all about the abstract. His cover also looks awesome, and Kennedy just looks damn sexy. ;D
So what didn't work? Well this issue didn't really provide many answers, which is what people were looking forward to the most. Perhaps more will be made clear after re-examing some past issues (those with Saga, the Elementals, etc.), but right now, I think the lack and any big revelations or anything will definitely polarize the readers.
Joss's writing was great though, and it is definitely a treat to have him on writing duties for this issue and the next, I'm just not sure what sort of impact this will have on the Season as a whole.

It's actually the store located in the town where I go to school - it's a separate LCS but the difference is the distance traveled. I still can't drive yet (I'm lazy) so I can't drive to the stores in the town where I live, but at school the LCS is a 10-15 minute walk from my dorm room. So naturally all the good Buffy/Angel comics come out in the one month where I can't make my weekly trip to the store. Didn't Bill (one of them anyway) say that Gwen would be meeting up with Eddie Hope early on? That's going to be something fierce. <3 I had a store right outside my campus as well. It was small though and had a bad selection. My store at home though is a lot better, it's just 30 minutes away though. Yeah, Williams said in the Buffyfest interview that Gwen would be meeting Eddie soon, and that she is his favorite character, so even cooler.

I think, out of common courtesy, if someone does use the dislike button, they should post what issue they have with the original post, or PM the author about it. Just so animosity doesn't foster or anything. It's a neat feature though.

Yay, finally got this issue! (Got a lucky trip to the LCS while at home - few less comics I'll have to buy out from my school store when I go back.) Your school store sells comics? That rocks. I am kind of bummed that Nina didn't stick around, but including her is just entirely too much, character wise. We know that Gwen will be showing up eventually though, which is exciting. I wonder if Eddie will eventually be integrated into the team (tons of speculation on my part as we know nothing about where his story will end up), and what would happen to Bill Williams then? Also, I wonder how the two Bills will handle their own crossovers within the series, as Angel and Eddie are bound to meet eventually. Probably just write the issues together (they both plot the Eddie stories after all, and Williams just writes them).
