SPIKE: THE DEVIL YOU KNOW #1Covers: (Click for larger) SPIKE: THE DEVIL YOU KNOW #1
Written by Bill Williams, art by Chris Cross, covers by Franco Urru.
While out and about (drinking, naturally) Spike gets in trouble over a girl (of course) and finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy that involves Hellmouths, blood factories, and demons. Just another day in Los Angeles, really. But when devil Eddie Hope gets involved, they might just kill each other before getting to the bad guys.
32 pages, $3.99.Preview pages/original art: Black and white cover:

Interesting. Think it being a cover for Angel #32 makes the most sense, it's kind of the same style as Messina's. Maybe he got too busy or something so Urru jumped in.
Regardless, it looks great.

Cool, I didn't know Spike would be featured in this ongoing arc (I assume it's not a new arc, I have been keeping away from spoilers).

This isn't for Angel #32.Remember that Bill Williams said during his audio interview recently that he would be doing a Spike Mini-Series early next year. I think this is it. As he co-created Eddie Hope, perhaps this is a story set in Hell-A where Spike met Eddie and will tie into the main series when Eddie eventually crosses paths with Angel,Spike and the gang?

Is the Spike 'Mini-Series' and Spike 'ongoing Series' the same thing?

Maybe the 'Mini-Series' is going to be like 'Spike:After the fall' was to 'Angel: After the fall'.

It's probably just a Spike miniseries that doesn't have super strong ties to anything.

Chris Ryall posted some new info about this mini-series on his blog. It's being written by Bill Williams (he writes the Eddie Hope back up stories), with art by Chris Cross (how cool is that name?). No idea how many issues it will be or where it will take place in the timeline. Based on Urru's beautiful cover, which we saw previously in black and white, Eddie will play some sort of role in this. I'd certainly be interested in getting more backstory regarding Eddie. Here's everything released regarding the mini so far: Covers: (Click for larger) Preview pages/original art: Black and white cover:

This may sound ungrateful, but... Am I the only one[/b] who is getting tired of Angel Minni-Series, One-Shots, Episode Comics, ect? I wanted to keep up with everything, and add them to my collection, but it seems like way too much work, and money now.
I don't even enjoy the main line that much anymore, so doing a mini-series off of it seems like a waste of time, imo. :/

A Spike mini series? I'm both excited and afraid. This writer writes Spike like a womanizing jerk with no depth, doesn't he?
Nevermind, it'll be better than nothing.
EDIT-
Nope, different writer. Now I'm just excited!

Beleive me, I am happy that IDW is showing so much love to the Angel franchise, I just think they need to slow their roll and concentrate on the main book (and the Spike series, of course).

Urgh, not really interested in this. Of all the Buffyverse projects IDW have done and could do, yet another Spike miniseries is hardly the most exciting. I mean, the character's already got his own series and is still a main character in Angel. I'd rather see something a little quirkier, like that Groosalugg series Brian Lynch has always wanted to write. It doesn't help that Eddie Hope has been a pretty boring character so far. Still, I'll give it a chance, you never know...
