Why has no one staked Dracula and then sucked up the fog or whatever, and but it in a little urn or something? All it would take now is a stake to kill Dracula. The spell that Willow performed at the end of "WatG" affected Dracula as well... so no more turning to mist for him. *hands Sky a stake* Have at it. I forgot about that. Mohahaha. .... So seriously, why has no one staked him? I'm betting it's a he-was-on-our-side-we-owe-him thing. Like he won't still be killing and slowly regaining his powers. Morons.

Same reason that Buffy actually spared Spike on multiple occasions throughout the run of the show: a sense of honor. Dracula did play on their team, and was instrumental to their victory. Sure, she could've pulled an Angel ala "Not Fade Away" and terminate Lindsey Dracula, but Buffy... well, she's Buffy...

I know this is in the Buffy section, but I'm going to cover Angel too. - Willow isn't as adorable as the fanbase makes her out to be.
- The majority of what Xander says makes him come across as a douche.
- Amy Acker's acting as Illyria was pretty lame. All she ever did was puppy-face.
- Spike was annoying as hell in Angel season five.
- Fans give Dawn a harder time than they should.
- I like Tabula Rasa. People always say it is sooo overrated, but that's all you hear anyone say! No one ever says they like it, so how exactly can it be so overrated?
- I loved the overall plot of season seven.
- Season four of Angel is my favorite one.
- I hate it when a character is killed off and Joss or one writers explain they did it because it was funny. How about they have Willow go dark again and beat Kennedy over the head with a shovel? Now that would be funny!
3.) Season 8 is genuinely awful stuff: retcons, plot holes, lame ideas, pointless cameos and silly, unnecessary swearing... made bearable by some fun and nostalgic dialogue. I plan on finishing it because it's nearly over but once it is, it's out the door and hopefully of of my memory. If you don't mind me ask, what cameos are you referring to?

Sure, she could've pulled an Angel ala "Not Fade Away" and terminate Lindsey Dracula, but Buffy... well, she's Buffy... Yeah, that's probably it. But I don't get why they value honor over the lives Dracula will take. Or the ones Spike was likely to take if (although I would like to say "when") his chipped stopped working. So Angel did one right thing in Not Fade Away. I get the honor thing, I do, but the guilt over letting a murderer live should be greater than the guilt over killing a temporary ally. It's the lesser evil. I wonder if that wouldn't have been a great little side-plot, in one comic (pre-Twilight's reveal) Buffy would have meet a vampire newly sired by Dracula, had to stake her/him and later we see her yet another of her "good intentions" descision, which is a big theme for season 8 (still don't get if Twangel wanted Buffy to doubt herself so she'd give into him, or if that was what he pretended to want to fool the bad guys).

Mine: I have always loved Dawn, from the first moment she arrived. I hate Dark Willow. I think it is the only time I have ever doubted Alyson Hannigan's acting ability Both of these. I hate Spuffy. I also think Spike was overused. I lost interest in his character a long time ago, but he's good for comedy. However, I am interested in him being back in S8. I don't find Xander funny. I have a very tough time deciding on if I like him or not. He's such a hypocritical ass, but sometimes he says something sweet. I like Kennedy and Riley. His oafish comments about him needing to protect Buffy are laughable though. I love season 4. I think it's the 3rd best season. I can't think of anything else I think that not many people do so I'm being unoriginal and saying ones everyone else has said. I'll think of some when watching the show.

I forgot a very big one on my list - I actually don't like Buffy as a character. A lot of people on forums (not just this one) have some sort of Buffy adulation going on. I really can't stand her most of the time. I mean, yes, I feel for her and everything she's gone through, but the girl is beyond irritating.

Got a couple more... Lately I've found myself questioning Joss's writing. I used to treat his works like they were sacred, but now I notice the same flaws again and again: one dimensional villains, plot holes and cheap twists. I find Xander's joking really distracting in season 8. He seems more forced and innapropriate than before. I don't enjoy the final episodes of Season 7. There's the increased pace of the final run, but it's not fast enough to stop me from questioning just what the hell is supposed to be happening. The evil plan is never explained. Buffy's issues are resolved, but the (bizarre) rift with her firends isn't properly addressed. The whole season is lazy. Riley springs to mind instantly as a complete waste, but also Oz, Warren, Amy, Ethan Rayne and Harmony. Even Faith seems like a pointless cast addition: the focus of one good arc and irrelevent to the rest of the story. Spike may end up being pointless too.

1) I like Kennedy, and think that her and Willow are more believable as a couple than Willow and Tara; while I like her, Tara simply is not enough of a challange for Willow. They are too alike.
2) I cringe when people wanna bring back the dead characters. Even Tara and Anya.
3) While I liked Buffy more with Angel than with Spike or Riley, I hate shipping!

I don't have all THAT many unpopular opinions.
I like both Riley and Dawn, and never especially cared for Anya, but it's not like I hate Anya or Riley or Dawn are my favorites. I don't mind Kennedy and think she was probably what Willow needed at the time.
But on the whole I'm pretty mainstream.
AngelFaith, I'm curious... is it weird to like a show, which I assume you do since you're here, and not like the main protagonist?

AngelFaith, I'm curious... is it weird to like a show, which I assume you do since you're here, and not like the main protagonist? I don't feel weird about it, but I know that other people do think that it's odd. For me, my favourite shows don't always have the most likeable protagonists (example, I also love Gilmore Girls but I can't stand Rory and I'm not a huge fan of Lorelai) but they do have interesting storylines, great dialogue and a strong cast of supporting characters that I love, which is enough to keep me addicted. Plus, I do like watching Buffy's growth and her character development, just not her. I'm probably not explaining myself very well, here. Bottom line, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my favourite TV show of all time, despite the fact that I don't like Buffy herself. The arcs, the dialogue, the themes, the other characters all keep me hooked.

I'm often indifferent to Buffy, (but find her likeable, just dull), but BtVS it's my favorite show. I loathe and pity Angel, but Ats is my second favorite show.
I don't find that weird at all, since the shows aren't all about those two main characters, and even tough I don't feel that much good for the characters, specially Angel, I can sympatize with them and I'm often fascinated by them and their stories. But I don't watch Angel for Angel. Definitly not. Buffy is way more watchable as a character in comparison, but I'm still pretty meh about her as a person. That she's a slayer is pretty cool tough. I think that gets her into great adventures (Angel's vampire-with-a-soul-bit is very boring by now tough).

Also, I don't like watching Once More With Feeling or Restless. Restless is dull and weird most of the time, and Once More With Feeling is a pain to watch, despite outstanding music and acting, because I keep thinking "Bad horrible Willow" and "Oh, Buffy & Spike kissing, the road to the bathroom scene has begun". Makes it hard to watch.

Everyone always talks about how they can't stand the B/S attempted rape scene and how they always cringe, but I never have. It's not like I get a happy or anything. I don't condone any kind of rape in real life, but they're fiction characters, so I just don't really mind it.
Does that make me an insensitive jerk?

Don't you sometimes feel that you oppose to a popular opinion? Don't you sometimes feel that, no, I actually think Buffy deserved to be kicked out of her house. Well, here's a thread for you: You could spit out the opinions that (almost) nobody else shares. It feels like a confession. My Unpopular Opinions:1) I love S4 BtVS! 3) I'm desperately, passionately, totally in love with S8. I'm so happy to see my favorite characters' stories continuing. S8 gives me a far more satisfying closure to Xander's character than S7, which didn't even try to. 5) I love Where the Wild Things Are. 6) I love Riley. 7) I love Dawn. And she makes a wonderful sarcastic character in S8. Awesome idea for a thread, Sosa Lasa ;D! I agree with all of this opinions but most especially the first two. I love S4, too. It has a lot of funny episodes (including Beer Bad) and I never understand why the fandom is always so down on it. I also love S7. In fact, I would go as far to say that it is probably my second favorite season after S2. Like you, I too am crazy in love with and adore S8. It's so great that all my fave characters and fave universe is still going strong, even if it is through a different medium. I can totally hear their voices in my head when I am reading the comics, and the dialogue and characterization are spot on, in my opinion. Plus, I love that Joss and Co. are overseeing and involved in the project, it gives S8 an even more "real" feel. While I wouldn't say I *love* Where The Wild Things Are, I don't hate it either. I actually think the plot and premise of the episode is pretty interesting. Same with Riley. I would not say that I *love* him, but I do like his character, and I don't get why the fans hate him so much. Yeah, he made mistakes, but hasn't everyone in the Buffyverse? I liked him most in S4 and S6 (when he came back for the one episode). I also think he has had a good part in S8. Same with Dawn. I don't get why people are always so down on her, she really came into her own in S7, and I love her in S8.

I don't condone any kind of rape in real life, but they're fiction characters, so I just don't really mind it. Does that make me an insensitive jerk? No, it does not. It might not mean anything negative at all, just that you can distance yourself. Do you usually feel indifferent to characters emotions? Or are just able to care to a certain level, since they're fictional? I myself often empathize deeply with characters in my favorite shows. They're my made up fake buddies, in a way. And one of the reasons that scene hits me so hard is because I constantly think about rape, because of real life events. I can watch Family Guy, which have like one rape joke per episode, and feel almost nothing, I even laugh at those jokes sometimes, while I can't watch most of BtVS S6 because of one short scene in Entropy. That's because I can distance myself when it comes to Family Guy, because the whole show is in a way a huge joke and mockery of everyone and everything, but BtVS and it's characters feel to real for me not to connect with.
