^ Your theory might be right. Because i don't want Angel being Twilight , i don't want Angel going threw redemption once again. I want a fresh big bad , with new developments.

You do realize that if it is just regular Angel as Twilight, he is technically a new Big Bad. And your assertion makes no sense at all. You don't want it to be Angel because you want a new Big Bad (although, as I pointed out, technically, Angel is a new Big Bad), but you want it to be the First?

Angel isn't a new big bad, he is Angelus . Two personality's in the same body. So basically i dont want Angel being a big bad again. I want it to be the First because i think the first evil is has much greater potential then season 7. The First brought back Angel to kill Buffy, it shown that the first easily manipulated him to try to kill Buffy, then he decides to kill himself. The first was like that wasn't the plan but it would do. Which the First might still have a plan for him.

And you know that for sure? Angel != Angelus. They're two different personalities. Angelus was the Big Bad of Season Two. Angel has, to date, never been the Big Bad. We still don't know if it's Angel or Angelus in the mask, although I'm betting on Angel myself (though in re-watching S2, some of the things both Angel AND Angelus said... I got deja vu. A lot).

I think considering Joss's love of tackling really complex emotional storylines it'll probably be Angel not Angelus. Plus we've already had an "oh-no-he-needs-his-soul-back" storyline in season 2 and Joss isn't the type to repeat things

i think it's angel, not angelus. i agree that using angelus is old hat, and that joss would push for a greater emotional story between angel and buffy rather than repeat angelus' as the big bad.
let's not forget that this' joss' stepping into a new medium for buffy canon. he's gotta make the season eight venture a worthwhile, historical, and memorable. and what better way than to fight the love of your life, who's on the opposing side of the war?

If Angel loses his soul and revert to the evil Angelus again. But Angel is choosing to be evil he would live with the consequences, and he will regret of being evil, because he has a soul, surly he will have remorse what he has done to Buffy if it is Angel. Which leads to redemption, once again.

Since I really haven't yet addressed my take on the reveal of yet, and for me it's a real bravo moment for Joss and his team for able to keep a secret like this for three years without sprouting a leek somewhere. But with today 24hour Media Market, I was sure that it was going to happen eventually. But, with the secret being out that our favorite Masked "Big Bad" for the last three years is indeed Mr. Forehead himself lol. All of our efforts to try to pry and preempt the twisted Labryinth of Joss' Creative Genius has failed. My two biggest suspects with Xander and Giles, because I thought that both had really seen a total lack of character Development from Season 5 onward and there falling to a darkside although hard, I still think could have been done with minimal ease(How can Twilight be at two places at once, and Im like hello Warren and Government Resources...Robots anyone?) Plus, I mean Wearing a Mask, Leather bound Armor, a Cape, Superstrying and the ability to Fly...Come on the Xan man would have loved that crap lol. But I think when It boils down to it, the realization that the story of Joss's Buffverse, is essentialy about Buffy and Angel(Sorry Spuffy fans). These two characters despite all that's happend since 1997, still remain The "True" Slayer and The "True" Ensolued" Vampire(Faith and Spike aside for the moment), and although they've seperated and are their own Solar system's now. There still the Binary stars of their Universe, with their friends that they've attached to as their planets. I've always felt that Joss was planning on having Angel go Dark for good(Not Angelus, Not Brainwashed, Not a Puppet but Angel with a Soul/Free will) just on how differently the show's set up. We realize at the end of Angel season 5, that all of those in his own Original core three(Doyle, Cordelia and Wesley) had died. Just Imagine how Dark Buffy would have become if Giles would have died sacrificing himself against the Master in Season 1, or after finally realizing that she was in love with Xander, he becomes a higher being and his body later hijacked by a Utilitarian Power that Was or Willow kidnaped her only child in plans to deliver it to her mortal enemy. For the Duration of the Series, Wolfram & Hart entire goal was to see how hard they'd have to push so that Angel would come to the Darkside. And I do agree with Scott, in that we don't know anything other that Angel is the man behind the mask, and that wer'e probably spinning our heals trying to preempt the writing staff. But I do want to say that I don't think Angel plans are really that nefarious, and I think the Bangel dynamic has shifted from estranged former lovers to a more Mlk/Malcom X or in comic terms Professor X/Magneto type of Deal. Were basically that all have the same basic goals, but diffrent views on the means on how to accomplish them. And I say it's about damn time, that Joss has mixed B's world which is typically pretty clear cut between Good v. Evil into the murky shades of gray of Angel's world. With all that being said, I still think there a shitload of Questions that need to be answered, Like where did Angel get these newfound Powers from? The Military Contacts? Why has he waited so long to reveal himself? What is his plan to accomplish the end of Magic? and more importantly where the Hell is Cordy in all of this(I mean her whole reason of coming back in S5 was to get Angel back on Track, give him the visions, and helped him fight to stay alive when he was on the brink of death in Hell-A...I also think After These Messages, is alot more crucial to the story than there letting on and by the end of the season I think we could really have a Gang's all here kind of scenario. I also think it's about damn time that Cordy return to atleast visit the Scoobies)? So that's why I think these next 8 months will be quite a ride, and we will learn alot about ourselves in the process...We'll learn that we're a bunch of pathetic schmucks, if it hasn't sunk in already. Look at us. Trying to figure this Twilight thing out, just like her. We still don't get it. It's not about right, not about wrong...It's about Power

Am I the only one who's under the bad impression that Buffy is going to fall into Angel's arm as soon as he remove that mask? I don't know if it's because of all these "I need a man/sex/love" comment Buffy made in the comics, her tendency this Season to jump on every partner she sees as available (Xander, Satsu), the cover to #34 or even that feeling of loneliness she seems to have, but there a tingling fear that she might jump in his arms and maybe even "do it". I wouldn't really make sense or even be possible, as far as I know, but I don't know, it's a feeling that won't subside...
(Bonus point to the first who catch the Dirty Dancing reference in this post)

I hope Buffy doesn't do that, but that cover sort of suggests something...Then again the one cover is so cheesy I don't know if it's actually meant to be serious. I guess we'll see.
I would probably prefer the big bad to be Angelus, but I sort of get the impression that Angelus wouldn't care about all this. I mean he wouldn't love 1000+ new slayers, but I imagine he would find it more fun than anything else. Also he's not big on the super planning other than the raising of a demon or psychological torture of people. The masked thing doesn't seem to be his style.
Then of course I could be wrong, but I agree with a lot of people in this thread that the Angelus thing has been done, more than once and I cán't see Joss doing it again. Actually I could but not with this much lead up. If it's going to be a big conspiricy, it has to be something at least slightly new.

Any thoughts on the Fray Timeline infection playing into creating this Twilight personification of Angel/Angelus.

(actually he even looks a bit like Twilight, though not as much as Midnight does)
