"How hasn't Dawn been mature?" I can think of a few instances. *Splashing Xander when he was asking an honest (and pertinent) question. *Not telling ANYONE what really happened for a real long while, including Willow "she's like a mom to me" Rosenberg; like Buffy in S3 not telling anyone (including father-figure Giles) Angel was cured before she 'killed' him. I really disagree about the second thing. I can't find anything immature in keeping your mouth shut about how you cheated. She was ashamed. Also, Buffy wasn't immature when she didn't tell anyone. She thought she killed her cured boyfriend, which means she was grieveing. That couldn't have been easy to tell. "I killed my boyfriend, who looked at me with hurt puppy-dog eyes, to save the world". Keeping secret's like that isn't immature. Sometimes you just don't want, or can, share. Of course, 'immature' is a relative word, but I just wanted to say that those actions were not, according to me, immature.

I shouldn't have compared Dawn's and Buffy's secret keepings because their circumstances were different. Buffy just kept a secret, there weren't any present ramifications to not telling it. Even when Angel came back, he was more or less himself, definitely not Angelus, and there weren't any immediate dangers to keeping the secret that he was back.
There was a present ramification for Dawn not telling her secret, she stayed a Giant. They couldn't help her until she told them. (Though I will admit that after she did tell Xander, nothing got done, minus the scenes we saw in Issue #21, but that isn't speaking to Dawn's immaturity, rather the Scoobies' lack of attention to her problem.)
I know about keeping secrets, and I don't think simply doing so is immature. What was immature in Dawn's case was she was willing to sacrifice her own well being for the sake of the secret and shame. The mature thing to do would be to fess up so they could help her.

The mature thing to do would be to fess up so they could help her. That 'mature thing' could apply to more than just Dawn's past Giant state. After all, the mature thing for Buffy to have done in S3 would have been to go to Giles and Wesley immediately after Faith killed the deputy Mayor. The mature thing for Willow in S6 would have been to get into magic rehab after her girlfriend left her and her life fell apart. In hindsight, all of these things are clear as daylight to us, the observers. However down in the trenches - or up, in Dawn's case- these things are never 'lets just confess to each other and help each other through these difficult times'. Secrets and outright lies were abound in 'Once more with Feeling' and one can't point out one thing or person who could have fixed every thing by being mature. Sometimes, you just need your secrets to be... secrets.

Interesting. I wonder who is getting tortured and who this person with the scarred hands is? Does this relate to what is going on with Dawn? Really different start for an issue, can't wait to see where it goes.

Woah. That's pretty weird and terrifying. The hand is from an older person, maybe it's Twilight. We know there will be some huge revelation. It doesn't seem like there could be another suspect.

Yeah... I was thinking one of the two people in this preview might be Twilight.

Didn't really think about the person being tortured as Twilight, I like that. Maybe that is a reason why he wears a mask.

Very. Lame. Preview.
Although, it does raise up some obvious questions.

Maybe it is some back story for Twilight... he hates magic users and magic because he was tortured into thinking so?
For some reason, I got a strange thought that Kenny might be going under the knife- I guess just because of the romance preview, I'd think he'd be involved more than in just a backstory, as he's responsible for Dawn's condition. Odd no one's looked him up.
Big check on the disturbing and uninformative.

Just another thought:
If Twilight is Ethan, who is one of the more likely suspects at this point, perhaps this is the supposed "rehabilitation" Riley promised when Ethan was captured in Season 4? It would certainly bring up some interesting parallels with the military/torture, and may prove that Twilight is nothing more than an instrument of the U.S. Military after all.

Torture? Could this mean that they've starting torturing allies/former allies for more information on the Slayer?

Wondering if the knife-reaching has anything to do with those "Twilight" sigils carved into flesh... *shudder* Yeah... scalpels immediately make me think of Warren and Willow in "TLWH".

I can think of quite a few people I'd rather not see under the knife! Well with recent event's happening in the series, such as vampires becoming a public favorite and slayers being blacklisted as terrorist, they're going to want to do whatever it takes to keep the slayers from spreading (for a lack of better term), they might as well resort to torturing allies for information that could help take down the slayers.
