I think it means that Buffy and co. "head for the hills" and maybe there are yaks living there. LMFAO. LOL I was joking. OH! Haha okay. Hehe.

Am I the only one who was reminded of "Toy Story 2" by this preview (the scene of Woody getting fixed up)?

This episode with Dawn and a strange man wanting to "keep her safe" puts me in mind of her "Key"-ness. I wonder if it has something to do with that, especially considering we know portals between worlds are going to feature in Buffy's big Apocalypse (at the end of this season, I believe). And Dawn has no scar on the cover to issue #26, so presumably whatever he's doing to her isn't permanent.

Frak...
Am I the only one who was hoping something drastic was gonna happen?

Wow, I love the extra pages. I was so hoping it wouldnt be Dawn! The whole doll/knife thing is pretty creepy, and the guy saying he is ''keeping her safe'' is quite intriguing. Im guessing someones dollnapped Dawn for their own little freakshow. It reminds me of the Charmed ep with Robert Englund in actually lol.
Oh and I LOVE that Buffy is a Veronica Mars fan <3

I actually thought of a lot of things upon seeing the preview. I thought of Doc, because of the old man but I also thought of the old man from All The Way. Remember he did have a shitload of toys. I think this is what we need for Dawn's character considering that since the end of Season 5, other than shoplifting, nothing has ever really been done with her character. All of the others have progressed and moved onto different things, whereas Dawn seems to be in the background waiting for something to do. Hopefully, this will give her the spotlight she deserves.

I didn't know that. I was watching season 5 again a couple of months ago, and when Glory captures Spike, thinking he's the Key, she tastes his blood and instantly recognizes he's not the Key because the Key is pure, and he's not... Now, I don't mean to go all retro, but since virgin's blood is always a big thing on prophecies and stuff, I started thinking what if Dawn could no longer be the Key, now that (after Kenny) she's no longer "pure". That was my "Why Dawn is changing" theory back then... but after seeing the pupeteer, I'm not so convinced. Either way, I'm pretty excited about this issue.

(Spike sets the chair down) Or if I am, I don't open anything any more. It's over. Remember?" So it's not like they definitely know she's not the Key. It's just that the time for the Key to be used has most definitely passed, so the point is moot.

Exactly, I think that she will always be The Key. Her blood will always have that aspect. But it's just that as far as the gang knows, her blood doesn't open anything. It's only speculation on the characters' part, so that story can always be brought to light if they want. Personally I would love to see that plot re-visited.
Those knight guys did say that they'd never stop hunting her...

Since Dawn never knew she was the Key until she was told she was, I'm not sure how she'd know she's not it anymore. All we know is that Dawn doesn't think she is.
But I think the Key IS the essence of Dawn. She is the Key + a Body, like most people are their soul + a body.
(In her spiritual form Dawn is referred to as a "ball of green energy." And how are disembodied souls depicted on Buffy? As balls of green energy.)
Whether or not she opens anything is another question, but she will always be the mystical being called The Key.
My pet theory was that these transformations were programmed into Dawn's body by its creators. When she reached adulthood (i.e., lost her virginity) her body's shapechanging ability was unlocked. She will eventually learn to control her changes so that she can take on various forms at will.
I don't know whether that theory is true or not. I guess we'll probably find out next Wednesday.

I really like your theory. It would be more interesting if Dawn's transformations were due to her being the key because this Kenny business has been kinda lame for me. Id also be all for revisiting the key storyline. Maybe Ben could turn out to br Twilight and it'll all be connected...
