CowboyGuy, I'll stop bringing it up here, since it offends fellow posters, but you can't seriously expect me to censor what I say in my own LiveJournal. If people aren't comfortable with my opinions, all they have to do is, y'know, not look. It's not String Theory. And for the record, I like you, and I like your forum; I wouldn't have 500+ posts here if I didn't. It's only this one thing that bothers me (but it just so happens to bother me a lot, since this is my favourite character and 'ship we're talking about, and since the impression people -- like henz, like Aud, like Spike's Slayer -- get from threads like this is so obviously false). Meh. Huh...well I guess it's my own fault for not reading every single post on this thread and understanding all the nuances of this whole Spike argument. Maybe then I would have prevented being called out on my one simple comment. Therein lies the dangers of skimming--it riles people up.

Another overused supporting character: RONA. Bah, I would have been so satisfied if she had died in the final battle instead of Amanda. Did anyone notice that it was Rona who recruited pseudo-Buffy in The Chain? I just realized.

I love you for two reasons now: 1) You *face palm* -ed. 2) You too dislike Rona. Yeah, I noticed it was Rona too. Blah, I *really* dislike her.

Yeah, Rona was a Bit*h... but I would have liked her to be Olivia's sister, that would have been cool... and I should say that I think that 'good' Spike was overused... he needed to be evil more ... that was when he was at his coolest ... (like in the comics, ever tho he is not evil in the comics)...

I really must have worded that wrong... Same case as Aud's: you were totally justified about everything you said, 'cause that's the exact impression this thread gives (to me, as well), even if said impression isn't applicable for the fandom as a whole.

I do think Andrew was overused but I thought he was hilarious. I don't really think he's added that much humour to the comics, like he did with the TV show.
I don't see him as a scooby, and I never will.

Looking back across both series, I can't say there is one character that I would have liked to see less of than Rona. Easily my least favorite character in the Buffyverse. Another would possibly be Kennedy, but that is simply because Iyari Limon isn't a good actress (at least in 2002-2003), but I do like Kennedy's character, so she is a mixed bag for me. I can understand why some would say Spike. Spike is a great character, but in terms of Season 6 and 7, those that aren't Spuffy fans are of course going to get annoyed by him. I don't particularly care one way or another about Spuffy, but those two seasons are not my favorites anyway, so I don't tend to get as worked up about Spike's involvement as some fans do. Spike is awesome in his own comic series and After the Fall, so I could never say I want to see less of him. But please...no more Rona.

I don't see him as a scooby, and I never will. Here here! I just have a hard time seeing him in this group. It just seems so forced. An he seems younger than the rest (Dawn, exception) which is also odd to me. He did not go to school with the Scoobies.

Oh, its Spike. I never hated him. Just got sick of him. Which pretty much defines overused, don't it? Call him the Gambit of the buffyverse. Ok, maybe not THAT bad, but still, the schtick got old. *cough* tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BadassDecay *wheez*

Oh yes... Rona god why she didn't die?! We could hace Amanda around in s8... I miss silly silly Amanda
I guess the reason I don't like Spike that much (I can have Spuffy IF there's Fangel...) It's beacuse I actually like Andrew... he's funny, sadly I think he should die...

I would have to say Andrew, it just kinda seemed like he didn't do much to really help the scoobies.
Also I don't understand how you guys could call Spike a supporting character he's in the main credits so I wouldn't consider him as supporting.

I love Harmony and Faith!
But 'Spike' is the most overused supporting character...

I don't even think Spike necessarily qualifies as a supporting character, since he was in the main cast...as well as the credits for the show(s). I'd say characters like Faith, Rona, etc are more supporting. Ones like Spike seem more main-character like to me.
Ugh, I really cannot stand Rona! What a selfish bitca!!

I like to think of Faith as a main character. Even though she wasn't in the credits she added a lot to the story, unlike Rona.
