How come Adam was a super-state-of-the-art government creation, presumably using all the latest technologies, yet still had a 3.5" floppy drive instead of a CD- or DVD-ROM drive? Altho I suppose it was at least a very-advanced 3.5" floppy drive, because with the plain old ordinary one I had on my first computer, you had to eject one disk before you could put another one in. Adam puts a disk in, then puts another one in right after it, without ejecting the first one. (And on the subject of Adam, it always drives me nuts that that little slot opens on his arm and this huge-ass gatling gun comes out of it... ) Lol, Adam is so cheap and nasty. The whole Initiative actually looks pretty dated nowadays. When you compare it to something like Torchwood (which is prone to it's own cheesiness), the tecnology they use looks really rubbish.

Although I love Spike in season 7, I hate that there was a distinction between Angel and Angelus, yet Spike was just himself with a soul.

I remember thinking that the Initiative itself looked so cheap and tacky, not at all like a real government/military facility. That is until I watched the commentaries and found out that it was the actual location in which the Stealth Bomber was designed and built!

One of the lamest moments was during the season six finale where Dark Willow grabbed Anya and Anya yelled "Somebody help me" and was promptly knocked out. I always thought it was lame because Anya was a vengeance demon at the time and could have just teleported away or at the very least put up a fight.

Lol Anya could have teleported away... good call. I didn't notice that, but it would have been useful cause have you noticed just how many times Anya got knocked out in those 3 episodes? Poor lass.
I think magic has been mentioned before. There's always a useful spell that comes up that never gets used again, like the one in Smashed which basically reveals a useful spell... hmm that could have been useful many more times couldn't it?
The bit in "Two to Go" where Willow can't do magic to the nerds and decides to do it to herself instead. Why didn't she just use magic on the swords they were holding?... stab the guys in the face with them or something.

I would have thought that, but Willow throws that book ladder at Buffy during their fight, so surely the same rules apply.

In the episode I Robot, You Jane when the demon is looking up Buffy's permanent record it says she's a senior. That bugged me for some reason. Maybe it's because she's a senior in the non-cannon movie and then a sophmore at the start of the show. I don't know. It just bothered me.

Watching Normal Again recently, I remembered my only major bug-bear with that ep (which is otherwise stunning). The revelation that Buffy was in a mental institution for 2 weeks because she told her parents that she was the Slayer jars with the first two seasons SO badly that it hurts. The idea that Joyce would forget about the two weeks that her only child spent in a mental institution is enough to require social services intervention. There are so many moments in the first couple of seasons where Buffy kind of lets slip about vampires and slaying to her mother and it's just brushed off. ] Example from Bad Eggs: JOYCE: A little responsibility is all I ask. Honestly, don't you ever think about anything besides boys and clothes? BUFFY: Saving the world from vampires? JOYCE: I swear, sometimes I don't know what goes on in your head.
Now if that were my daughter relapsing into what I assume is insanity, I think I would be a tad more concerned than Joyce lets on. And what about when Buffy finally reveals everything in Becoming Part II. It all seems to come as a big surprise to Joyce there as well.
The most irritating thing about it for me is that it really doesn't add much more impact to Normal Again. It's not as if there isn't enough in Buffy's mind to make the idea of being in the asylum real and comforting.
It irked particularly when I was listening to the commentary the other day and Diego Gutierrez, the director of the episode, was slapping himself on the back for a great little addition to the Buffy back-story. I couldn't disagree with him more!

Maybe it's because she's a senior in the non-cannon movie and then a sophmore at the start of the show. I don't know. It just bothered me. Not only that, but it says she's a senior on one monitor, and then the scene cuts to a different location, and another monitor lists her as a sophomore (I think her birthday changed between the two, also). And gumgnome, totally agree about the institution stuff in "Normal Again". A couple of other things: - Oz wakes up naked in the woods on the second morning after becoming a werewolf, seems surprised, and calls up his aunt to ask about his cousin. But what about the first morning, the day before? Did Wolf-Oz return home just before dawn, tiptoe down the hallway, and climb into bed? - Early-S3, Angel comes back after being tortured for hundreds of years in a hell dimension. He's naked and totally feral, yet somehow has enough humanity to realize before the next ep that he needs to grab himself a pair of pants?

And continuing on the same theme: After Angel sleeps with Buffy, he wakes up later, gasping and in obvious distress, and gets up out of bed--shirtless, and presumably completely nekkid. But when he stumbles out into the alley in the rain, he's fully dressed. With what was happening to him, he still had the presence of mind to put on all his clothes?

On the above, I absolutely hate the moment at the end of Reprise when Angel goes out onto the balcony after sex with Darla and basically mirrors his actions at the end of Surprise, only no wait - he's fine! Then we get Lorne's definitive explanation (certainly the only one we'll ever get) of: "You think you're the first guy who ever rolled over, saw what was lying next to him and went 'Guyeah!'" Actually, I would imagine that Angel is in a small crowd of people who rush out of bed after sex, onto the balcony and scream in pain and anguish...

okay so i'm venting about Gingerbread because i am currently watching it.
i t always bothered me that during Joyce's speech, she said 'Slayers'. it's not like the Slayer is like superman or batman, no one really knows what they are. i think it was the kind of thing that people would be like 'HUH???"
and it bothered me that amy was just kinda there. no real purpose. just chillin'.

Reminds me of Buffy in School Hard. When she rushes out to save the girl in the alley, she finds time to put on a jacket.

Reminds me of Buffy in School Hard. When she rushes out to save the girl in the alley, she finds time to put on a jacket. The flu is the big bad. Vampires just can't compete with a runny nose. A couple of things bother me, but lately I've been bugging about Harmony's shoes in S5 of Angel. Every time she gets smacked across the room, her shoes fly off. I don't know why that bugs me so much. And the only time they didn't come off was during her big fight scene with that other assistant in Harm's Way. Isn't it more likely to lose a shoe during a hardcore battle? I don't know. It's just one of those things I guess.

Some fanwank that might help explain this: In the comic, "Slayer, Interrupted", Buffy only gets sent to the asylum because Dawn reads her diary and "outs" her to her parents. Obviously, this comic isn't canon, but it's possible that the whole asylum thing was a false memory that only happened in the "Dawnverse", and not in the original S1-4 continuity. That might explain why Joyce doesn't seem too concerned that her daughter's babbling about vampires, or why the asylum thing was never brought up before. Just a theory.

While it's true that this could work, it would mean the whole asylum thing was actually just a 'fake' memory that the monks created. Jeez, what assholes. That's a pretty uneccessary piece of life to invent for someone!
