I agree that it's all about Willow- there's been a lot of focus on her throughout the season with the Toyl arc and the recent one-shot right in the middle of the climatic battle scene. If Joss does decide to eliminate a major character at the end of the season it'll probably be Willow because it seems inevitable that she will eventually become evil and although I expect Buffy to triumph over Twilight I don't think it can just be a clear cut victory- we've gone past that level of simplicity, I think that Buffy will defeat him but she'll lose Willow, making the ending more complex and realistic There's only one problem...Willow has already DIED in the future. So if Willow dies yet again in the present...what happens? In any case, if this is Joss' plan to kill off Willow forever I have no intention of watching (excuse me) getting anymore comics. I was planning on buying the omnibus format version of all these episodes in those mini graphic novels. If Willow is killed off...out the window this plan goes. I'll be saving my money. We've been warned a big segment of the fanbase is going to be very angry pretty soon. I"m guessing from all the hints about Willow now is a clue. I'm wondering if Amy is being groomed to be the Willow replacement once she's gone?

I think that next to Buffy herself, Willow is probably the safest character in the 'Verse.
Well, safe in the sense of "not being permanently killed off," I mean.
I think Joss finds her story just as juicy as Buffy's now. Plus, as said, we've already seen her killed in the future. Killing her again would seem like overkill (literally). And Scott Allie has strongly hinted on a couple of occasions that Will's story will be a big part of season 9.

You gotta admit the gang Willow could potentially inherit from Aluwyn is pretty neat...a giant fly, a black coated knight and a roving airplane goggled, wheelchair bound orphan girl. I'm theorizing if Joss is planning a Willow spinoff (of sorts) that Amy could potentially become Willow's apprentice. If Willow becomes good/bad we might get a Wiccan version of the Sith Rule of Two...from the Star Wars universe with one Wiccan with the power and one who craves it.

But I guess they misjudged fan opinion.

Many more people were upset by Xander/Dawn than by Buffy's new powers.
But, with the possible exceptions of seasons 1 and 4, I don't think any season of Buffy has ever ended without some segment of the fandom enraged. This probably won't be any different.
I still feel in my bones that we're going to lose at least one major character in one way or another... and probably a couple of well-liked second-stringers as well. The Fraypocalypse looms!

I can't help but recall Scott Allie's comment saying when it's all over the Scoobies will be coming back together? Anyone recall this? I'm wondering if he was being hyperbolic or whether it was a slip of the tongue. By the way...since I'm new here can anybody tell me how many posts I need to crack before being able to put in my own avatar? Because when I check my profile...there's no option for me to choose my avatar.

You should be able to put in your avatar right away. If you edit your profile, there should be a spot for you to paste the code. If you're having trouble with this, send me the picture, and I'll do it for you. A private message should suffice.

I'm wondering if he was being hyperbolic or whether it was a slip of the tongue. A while ago, he was asked if they would all be together again before the end of the season, and he said yes... and they were, during the Retreat arc. What happens now is anybody's guess.

Well, if Willow's storyline for Season 9 is big...there has to be a setup for it. Season 8 seems to be pointing the way. Especially if the twist appears that Buffy may choose Twilight over Willow.
Edit...I found where I can input my avatar...but for reasons unknown to me at this time...the avatar is not showing...and I'm using the ones supplied by the forum. It's not showing up. Anybody know why?
Okay...the avatar appears to be working now. I hope this was an isolated incident. I'm grateful they're working.

There has been a lot of set up for a big Willow storyline, but if the scoobies are "coming back together" that- to me- sounds like Twilight may be an ex-scooby and thus may complete the group E.g. Anya or Spike

Interesting. Who are the ex-Scoobies currently not part of the group now? Oz? Spike? Anya?

Really not that bad at all, considering there's only a 3 week gap between the last issue (the Willow one-shot) and this. Plus, #32 comes out the first Wednesday of February. Works out pretty nicely.

I think it got bumped a week because Diamond, the comics distributor, decided to take the last week of December off.

Hi, guys I am knew here, that is kinda my first post, so I am really happy to discuss the future issue with all of you. I think it would be strange if Buffy kills Willow again this season. But I admit it could be a good storyline. Maybe Willow will go dark sooner then we expect and will go to the future and then will drag Buffy there, so Buffy could kill her. If that happens around the last few issues of the season it would make sense. Willow went dark, then saw what she had become, then she remembered what Buffy told her about her trip to the future and then she made it happen again… It would be kinda like Lost And I have to say that I expect to see more of Faith in the next issue. I believe the “Not Future For You” arc was the best so far. I loved the idea of Faith being in the big battle in the last few issues, but so far she hadn’t done anything really important. Btw, what do you think about Riley? Do you think there is a chance for him and Buffy to be together again? Cause that would be really great. Buffy/Angel and Buffy/Spike were a lot more interesting to watch then Buffy/Riley, but I think that Riley was the best guy for her, he was the one that made her really happy. Maybe Twilight could turn out to be Riley’s wife?

Final covers now on the Dark Horse website: Kinda torn this time around on which one to get. The Chen one is prettier, but the Jeanty one just seems more thematic... and the retro-ness is way cooler than pretty.

I might actually get Jeanty's cover this time. I haven't done that since TFAW would send me his occasionally back when I subscribed with them. Think my last Jeanty cover was #16.
I like Jo's cover, but those brown borders are ugly. Plus I love Jeanty's concept.
Also, were the titles on the Chen borders redesigned? Was the font like that with #30?
