Joss's time on TV is over in my opinion. He is cult, and is perfect internet material.

I'm quietly looking forward to Spiderman 4. I thought Spidey 3 got a lack of unfair negative attention, even if it wasn't as good as 1&2. There's still a lot to do with the character and I'm hoping that the quality will rise now there's less time restriction and no pandering to a trilogy format. I'm delighted to hear Raimi and Maguire will be returning. I would have hated a recast/reboot. Batman 3 is most likely going to be awesome so nothing more needs to be said. On the less likely end of the spectrum, I'd love a Jurassic Park 4. Dinosaurs are still cool in my book as there's little in the way of standards to live up to cause the JP sequels were never that good anyway. I'd love to see a sequel done right. Blade 4. Wesley Snipes is a dude. I'd watch him beat up some more vampires anyday. I'd like a real Alien film to make up for AvP. Weaver, Cameron and Scott have all expressed interest at different times so why is there nothing happening? Die Hard 5 could be fun. I liked 4. And if the evil duo dig up Harrison Ford for another Indy I wouldn't mind that either.

I'm fine with killing them off. It did bother me greatly though that they all died yet Ripley suffered barely any harm what so ever. I have NO response to that! Hicks and Newt are so film 2, why would you want them recycled in 3? The thing I love most about Alien as a franchise is its ability to change the stakes and the tone every time. If Fincher was given a script and some freedom Alien 3 would have been awesome.

io9.com/5154694/joss-whedon-done-with-televisionDoesn't paint a nice picture about Dollhouse really, but I think none of us would have expected Fox to be any better for him than before. I'm all for this if he can get funding for what he wants tbh.

I must admit I didn't like that Urru moved over to Spike: ATF.It felt a lot like A:ATF took second place during that time, but at the same time I appreciate that a LOT of people bitched about Urru's art at the beginning. I find it funny that by the time Urru returned to A:ATF everyone had nothing but praise for the guy. I have to say that I Runge's and Mooney's style a lot and in many ways appreciate the diversity in the art. If only they were used for accompanying pieces instead of breaking the art continuity.

Inspired by it's opposite I have to admit many sequels are a guilty pleasure of mine, 'cause I know they're normally gash and serve to only hock-up and gob all over the film that came before it. But still I watch on. What sequels would you like to see made, regardless of if they have a chance or not

I think Blade Trinity is a good example of a film being so unsexist it's sexist. The added character Abigail Whistler looks ridiculous fighting vampires alongside Blade, sorry girls but it's true. It doesn't matter that she's buff as hell (which she is), it still looks stupid. I don't think she even takes a punch in the whole film, cause she's a tough woman! Not sure of you meant it, but that sounded sexist. Like you could accept a strong male fighter but not a chick. But since you're a Buffy fan, I doubt that's what you meant. Did you mean that they're trying too hard to be unsexist and creates a too strong female character or that she simply looks out of place? No sexism here, like you guessed she is just out of place. Blade established vampires (as most things do) as super-humans and yet Biel's human character can handle several at a time. There's even a human male character along side her having a hard time brawling with them. It's like they're afraid to even show the chick take a punch. It just struck me watching it that it could have been handled better, to show her over-coming her physical weaknesses with skills or weapons rather than bullshitting.

I just watched and quite liked Blade Trinity. It's not as bad as the panning it receives.

^ Fincher isn't even responsible for the film you see. He walked out because of the unfair and constant studio interference. They even butchered his edit of the already studio-raped production, that's just beyond unfair.

^ I think ATF being written by a (talented) fan has actually been quite beneficial, because Lynch has strived to recreate the Angel feel within the comic medium. Because Joss is boss, he was free to do whatever he wanted with his baby in season 8 and it's gone off the rails slightly. I'm sure it'll come together quite nicely in the end, with more time to plan and avoid gaping plot stupidity like season 7, and more time to set up and pay off arcs than ATF; but there is a lot of unnecessary wierdness in season 8 that probably put a lot of fans off. I think both comics are doing what they should. Buffy wrapped up on telly so there's a jump back into a story that is both jarring and freeing. There's a clean slate to build anything on, but obviously everything needs to be built. The new season takes the time to establish everything and develop form there. In a monthly comic it's a slow process but the whole story becomes more and more enriched with each release. After the Fall was an entirely different beast. The Angel seires ended on a different note, and the continuation picks up on the immediate plot threads left behind. This story serves to wrap up the events implied by the final moments hinted at in the last moments of the show.

Definately a reasonable interpretation. I like it a lot. Fragments of Fred's memories as well her peer's projected memories have clearly shaped Illyria into who she is. The compassion and loving nature of Fred may well have influenced Illyria once she consumed her. Illyria really wanted to be Fred in ATF, when it's entirely possible that it's the Fred in her that led to that. Very nice.
A seamless theory that Fred would have been proud of lol

Nearing the end of the season's great start in my opinion. It really tackled a lot of problems with each character, everyone getting moments and beats, so it's great but also serves to highlight how muddy the later half of the season gets when the fuzzy major plot starts. This is further shown by the set up of Halfrek's sacrifice and the "pain" that's to come, which went nowhere after a segment was cut out of CWDP.
Great Anya centric episode; definately a massive character study for her. It's pretty much the end of the Anya character sadly, she may as well have been written out after this.

I noticed a massive continuity error a lil while back. I was watching The Gift, and it was awesome, but then I watched Bargaining and it sucked total ass. No continuity there at all.

I quite liked the utterly depressing tone of Alien 3, but it was just too dull throughout with no likable characters. Blame the studio for that one, they raped poor Fincher into the ground during production.
I think although it's likely that Anchorman 2 will suck compared to the first, it'll still be worth checking out. I love Anchorman. I don't care about any of the others on that list tbh. I know there's a sequel to Donnie Darko (unbelievable), another DVD American Pie, and possibly Ghostbusters 3 in the works.
It's rare that sequels ever really earn their right to exist. The Terminator was a brilliant film that never in a million years needed a sequel; luckily T2 is one of the few sequels around that is actually good in its own right.
Comic book adaptions get away with numerous films because of the wealth of material behind them, and I think that's a reason why studios love them. That said, I don't know why they focus on trilogies so much. It's debatable, but I think the "trilogy" factor is responsible for the declined quality in the Spidey, Xmen and Blade franchises. Hopefully Nolan's Batman won't suffer the same fate.

I have the first Season 8 TPB, but I ditched them in favour of the idividual issues. Way too long to wait for no real bonuses. I've waited the painful wait for the ATF HC's but they're well worth it. I'd probably pick up season 8 HC's if they were nice, but I'm pretty happy with the individual issues to be honest.

Do you think there's anything we could do that would actually help get Asylum and Shadow Puppets made into Hardcovers? I'm feeling active today.

Has to be Gunn, but they're all very good in a fight. Riley would probably be the one to show the least strength on the show (off-meds anyway), but I think he's probably formidable again now that he's had time away from his meds to train. I don't think Willow should have been left out. She may be a witch, but she's not a vampire witch. She's still very much human and a lot more powerful than any of the people on the poll. However, if I had to pick someone listed, I'd pick Holt. He could handle himself pretty well, even with Angel. Willow isn't physically strong at all though. She'd get absolutely mashed by any of the above candidates, and by a whole lot who didn't make the list.

I think the first volume has actually gone up a little since release, although not by much and probably due to inlfation or what have you. I'd just get them from release really cause they're awesome, and you won't be losing any money on them.
