Didn't I point out a long time ago that Adelle is utterly hot in that corset-ish get up. And rapiers make just about anyone look hot. Imo, powerful females + british accent = smocking hotness! It totally bears repeating: Adele: brains + power + money = sexy = Adele. The tight black stuff and the crazy fencing and the bottled-up emotional neediness and the decisive way she ignores a bullet lodged in her gut so she can get on with work... Adele is hardcore. *le sigh* <3

I think it's silly to criticize her weight or make fun of her for it. The unaired pilot was just bad, all the way around, and that's about the sum of it. Nobody had chemistry, people were giving flat readings, the characters were even different. And I only watched like the first 15 minutes before I had to shut it off.
Now, I know I have real trouble wrapping my brain around the idea that Sarah might have actually gotten the Cordelia part, which is what she originally tried for. 0_o

And what Buffy/Faith season 3 thing is everyone talking about? Explainy. The Buffy/Faith lesbian subtext of Season 3. It's apparently something Petrie pushed into quite a bit of his episodes (the kiss in Enemies) and something Whedon was largely unaware of til fans pointed it out to him through their meta writing. Then again, Joss has shown that he has been not too swooft on the uptake when it comes to gay/lesbian cliches and subtext. I suspect he's been educated by now, though. And c'mon... Faith and Buffy? Hawt.

Wow must be the most skin she's shown ever... I dunno, a friend of mine showed me yesterday a pic from allure.com where she's stark buck nekkid, sitting on a sheep skin... but all her special parts are concealed from view. Tease! (seriously, I kid) (I think I'd probably freak out if Eliza ever did a full shot.) (not that she's hard on the eyes or anything, just some of Joss' protectiveness of her has rubbed off) (parentheses are fun) (btw... link for allure's picture: www.allure.com/magazine/2009/05/nudes?slide=5)

I have always wondered this! In my head, Fred was kinda checking Willow out but she didn't know she was. Fred's such a sweetheart, when she really likes someone she really can't help but pour out adoration in heaps, especially when she really admires someone. I think she was definitely attracted to Willow's intelligence and self-confidence and especially her strength, but probably didn't perceive that her omgfangirlsquee! reactions might have implied a bit more of an intimate interest than she knew she was putting out there. Poor Fred. lol I am a complete sucker for brainy chicks like her and Willow. Even if they're not gay, and I'm not even feeling any sexy vibes, I tend to gush and smile and talk 90 miles an hour and blush and, well, flirt, even when I'm not meaning to. I'm just that crazy about brainiacs.

I finally got to watch this ep yesterday on Hulu and loved it! I think the show is now on solid ground. It was touch and go there for a while, but I think the 'iffy' time has finally passed. Dollhouse is must-watch for me and I think it's probably just going to improve from here and become a great show. Yey!
If Fox is doing any kind of internet-trolling for fan opinion, I can almost be sure that they're seeing fan approval in larger numbers every week. I kind of pop in and look at the #dollhouse hashtag on Twitter occasionally during the week, and opinion on the eps and show in general has done a big turnaround from what it was when the first episode aired. I think Fox could take a chance and green light a 2nd season without much skin off their back, from the articles I've read.
Oh, and btw? Adelle was super hot in that black getup, swinging that sword around. *fan self*

I totally forgot that about Willow being in the Himalayas. And I know that it never dawned on me that Oz had been in Tibet. Wonder if he went back to Tibet after "New Moon", or ran off to bark at the moon for a while? I'm gonna put money on the idea that Oz has worked through his grief and that he and Willow form a healthy friendship without baggage and drama. Oh wait, this is Buffy... that'll never happen to anyone.

That is pretty sweet! Congrats to the comic bookers, and it's well-deserved.

The entire iconic final scene where Spike confesses to Buffy he got his soul back in the church at the end of Beneath You was rewritten by Joss. There are a number of stories of actors going up to writers and saying 'I loved that line/scene' and the writer acknowledges that those were additions made by Joss. It apparently happened so often that Espenson and Petrie felt really proud when they were complimented by the actors mistaking their own work as Joss' because his special touches were what became the standout moments. Espenson talks about her "every night I save you" speech for Spike in Afterlife and how proud of that moment she was because people mistake it for a Joss touch but it was all her. "Every night I save you".... that's indeed really really really powerful. Jane's awesome, hands down ;D I can't wait to see Retreat. Too bad there's still one issue left on P&P, and the Tales of the Vampires... But I'm sure Petrie's will be a strong one, 'cause the guy is soooo damn awesome too! And Tales of the Vampires should rock too, 'cause Becky Cloonan is ALSO awesome. The girl rocks! ;D Wow, off-topic much Seriously!! I am ready for Retreat because I am ready for some Jane! You know, she came on board for Battlestar Galactica and I believe she even co-produced it. And damn but if that didn't make BSG even better. I just wish Joss could have directed/written an ep like he wanted to. Stupid scheduling conflicts and such. But hey, Jane was fully on board, and over the years I've gotten used to the great lines she pulls out of these characters that I love so much. So when I say I'm ready for Retreat, I'm really ready for Jane.

So, my original thought is that maybe Jim's script didn't get enough of an editing job by whoever it is that's supposed to okay scripts before they get made into the comic. Because... it's bad.

In 5x06 "Family", when Buffy kills the demon in the Magic Box and Giles helps Dawn up, the time on his wristwatch says it's 3:30. It's dark outside. I don't think it could be 3:30am since everyone's hanging around as normal, Dawn's up and around, Tara's family's stopping by, etc.
Yah, I would have never noticed this had I not been making video clips of this episode and was going through some parts frame by frame to mark the clips in and out.
Personally it doesn't matter to me about the time on the watch. I assumed they had prop jewelry and the propmaster would make sure the watch said 10 or something so it's right no matter what scene it's used in, but it's no big deal to me either way.

Sigh... I had a really awesome post typed, was almost done, then stopped to do something else, then my browser crashed. I thought I'd learned my lesson and realized I need to type epic posts in Notepad or something first. But nooo. Apparently my learning curve is steeper!
Anyway, the gist of what I wanted to say: Basically, I think this issue/episode was lazy writing. I'm curious about the story approval process that issues go through before they get printed, and who approves final prints before they're printed en masse and sold.
TV eps of Buffy have been written lazily also. So for me it's not a question of holding the comics up to a different standard, it's just a question of wondering why the characterization of Giles and Faith are so strangely off, and why the issue was not written very well on the whole.

Seriously, that is one amazing cover. I'd love to have an enormous poster of, signed, and framed, and hanging in my office. For now I will just print it (probably using something like posterazor.sourceforge.net/) Does Jo do cons? Because if I'm ever at one she's at, I would buy a print for her sig for sure! I'm eagerly awaiting the kickoff of this arc. I just feel like after all I've read in Season Eight, that this is the natural spot to kick off the stories that bring the season climax, so I'm really excited. Excited... climax... oh man. Where's the chocolate...

It has its merits, and I didn't find it awful, just... off. Like... these are the characters I know and love, but they're weird and confusing. But yeah, I chalk this one up to a writer just missing the forest for the trees, just like a handful of eps from the TV airing that I tend to skip over or not rewatch often. When it comes to Faith, I think, she might just be one of those characters that's so unique that her voice can only be captured by her original writers.
I bet Jim never dreamt that one little letter would provoke so much discussion, for sure! It's been interesting reading, I must say.

Didn't really bother me when she called him G. That is to say that it bothered me about as much as it did when she called Buffy "B" - because I knew she was doing it to be familiar, and maybe to insinuate herself into Buffy's life and be in her gang. It annoyed Buffy, so I picked up on that. I'm sure it annoys Giles a little.
Seems like she called her "B" less in S7, or did I just make that up?
Anyway, it was a small thing and when I read it, I had to stop about 2 seconds and mentally jog back to remember if "G" is a new or old thing. I can see how it doesn't ring true for the character, though. Honestly, Faith had changed so much from her stint in the pokey and abandoned a lot of those childish nicknames and old grudges. This issue seemed like she had some of that maturity, but not all of it, plus she seemed actually a bit regressed and kind of used as filler, which is I guess what made Faith seem 'off' to me.

It's the line he gives whenever he's asked. That there'll be no movie because nobody has approached him with bags of money. That's his way of saying "I'm so sad. But completely open to negotiation. Please bring the bags of money as quickly as possible." The guy loves Buffy. No, wait, not love. Buffy is life. Buffy is him, he is Buffy, he's as much a part of her as she's a part of him. I think he'll always be doing something Buffy story related; to not means he's just doing something that he hasn't published. I know he's super busy, but I think if the money was there, he would find a way. It's sad I'm not super rich, because I would do it.

This goofy article about babies and Michelle somebody reads like a leftover April Fool's Day joke.
As shishkarobb at Whedonesque said, "I'll believe there's going to be a Buffy movie when Jose officially announces it."

I really don't know what it is about Adam but I look at him and I think... Beaker! You know, the little fuzzy-headed lab assistant off Sesame Street? lol I really don't know where my head's gone sometimes.
I have to get on board with not knowing how Topher and Warren look similar... ! Plus I don't think Topher's a psychopath, but he's definitely in the nerd brigade, so I can see how you could pair them up.

I am really liking Cibo Matto and The Cure...I need to start with some Interpol. I've heard they're good, so onwards I go! Cibo Matto's just so infectious. I love them. I think there was a song of theirs in Season 2? It was when Buffy came back after killing the Master and got all up in Xander's personal space in a naughty way, on the dance floor. Moonchild's such an awesome song. Some of their stuff just makes me happy and chill. If you guys liked that one, try "Aqueous Transmission" by Incubus. Found the music at YT - www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4k5JWegwHg
