I think my opinions on season 4 is pretty unpopular/unusual. I like it overall (actually think it's the third best season) but I don't enjoy watching Restless and Hush all that much and rarely even think about watching them. I see how they're brilliant, and while I consider Hush somewhere in the middle on my all-144-episodes-ranked-by-how-awesome-they-are list, Restless is close to the bottom. What?! For me it's Restless then Hush.

Hush is great, but I kinda just see it like the other episodes. If we're looking for an episode that was beautifully put together and should have been nominated for awards I vote Conversations With Dead People.

Confession - I absolutely love Spike's curly hair in Bargaining and Afterlife. He looks so good it drives me while.
Possible unpopular opinion - I adore Buffy and Spike in the very beginning of season 6. I get chills every time he say 'Every night I saved you' and Buffy just looked at him silent. And the scene in Flooded was such a nice little moment. They weren't all bad in season 6.

I liked the whole Buffy/Spike in season 6 to a certain point. After the musical though, that's when things start to get dicey, and out of hand.

To be honest I even loved Spuffy in Smashed. I liked them all throughout Season 6 until the end of the episode Dead Things when Buffy beat up Spike. I did like them in Older & Far Away as well but after that it went downhill for me. It felt like Older and Far Away should have been before Dead Things. My love for Spuffy started right back up in Season 7 .

I love this thread. And I am going to post mine soon, but since I have so many, I am going to write them down first. Here are some to get me started.
1) I did like Season One, but overall, I think it wasn't that good. I liked it BECAUSE it was Buffy. That was about it. There were a few decent episodes, such as "Prophecy Girl" and "The Witch," but most were either lame plots or bad acting. The whole deal with the Master was only exciting and great when he killed Buffy. The rest of the time, he was just very annoying.

Love everything about Buffster.
I thought listening to fear was more scarier then Hush. Joyce reaction towards the Queller was really scary.

I think that Brian Lynch writes Spike better then Joss does. I think that Angel is a better show then Buffy, and I think that the Angel characters are better developed then the Buffy characters are. I think that After the Fall is better then Buffy Season 8.

Vampirewithsoul, may I ask why you feel this way? Sure. I think that Lynch's Spike feels like a Spike that has moved on from Buffy, but at the same time he feels like the Spike from the show. Joss's Spike still feels like he's trapped in the role of loving Buffy, and being jealous of Angel. As for liking Angel better then Buffy. I like the storylines better, and I feel that the Angel characters like Wesley, Fred, Illyria, Gunn, and Lorne had more personality, and character development then the Buffy characters. Other then Willow, Giles, Spike, and Buffy(somewhat), the Buffy characters had nowhere near the range of character development. As for liking After the Fall more then Season Eight. ATF feels like the show, and the characters are in character. Season 8 is too long, and some of the storylines don't feel like Buffy to me, and feel more like Joss went a little overboard with the comics.

I'm going to have to second that motion.
Like Vampirewithsoul I believe that every time both Angel and Buffy dealt with the same issue, Angel would come out better. Buffy also had more missteps than Angel did.
So I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion, but I do like Angel and After the Fall better than Buffy and Season 8.

I totally disagree, Angel sometimes was really boring and some episode that were boring was connected to the main plot. As for Buffy, Buffy's plot were more developed and more interesting. As for the characters i felt the developments was realistically good. I have trouble of connecting with Angel character, because in Buffy we can connect to our own back-round and experiences, so its more relatable and comforting.

It's amazing how much Wesley, Angel, Cordy, Fred and Gunn changed over the course of all 5 seasons. They all changed quite drastically. I also agree with the characters you named from Buffy although I would throw in Dawn and Tara as well. As for personality I have to disagree. For some reason I connect with the characters more on Buffy and find them more relatable/likable. I also think Buffy had better storylines and was overall a better show. I do get why some people would like Angel better though. Some like the darker feel it has to it. I love it the more I watch it.

I only appreciate that show because of the dark theme, but Buffy season 6 was so dark it was darker. That season alone was so dark it got miserable sometimes, but in a good way. Like what you said Buffy's characters have an effect on the viewer so it makes it more enjoyable and relatable. Each Buffy characters witnessed development on a path threw life and they all took on responsibilities and consequences and even choices. Thats why i appreciate Buffy because its relatable to the audience.

I disagree with your disagreement. Though this is firmly in the realm of the totally and utterly subjective I felt that Buffy became boring in some places, while Angel always had that drive forward. I felt that Buffy's character development stalled and in many places went backwards and thus found it harder to relate to them. Though, this might depend on how you view the last two seasons of Buffy.
Which is an interesting question. How did you feel about those two seasons?

One thing that bugged me on Buffy was how Buffy seemed to be the only one who was a good leader. I was excited at the end of Buffy Season 7 to see Faith lead the potential Slayers, but nope Faith isn't a good leader, and only Buffy is able to lead the potential's well, and all the issues that got bought up about Buffy are never mentioned again. It made Buffy feel kind of like a Mary-Su.
On Angel we got to see Wesley lead Team Angel for awhile, and we got to see that Team Angel can work without Angel.

I agree that Wesley had one of the best character developments in all the Whedonverse shows. But I don't think you can say that on Buffy only the Scoobies had good character development. I mean look at Warren. I understand that it's a bit of an unpopular opinion but I think he had an EPIC character development.

I think that Angel is a better show then Buffy, and I think that the Angel characters are better developed then the Buffy characters are. I think former Buffy characters like Angel, Cordy, and Wes truly rival Buffy, Willow, and Xander in the development department on Angel. Willow, Cordy, Wes, and Spike probably have the most impressive arcs across the two shows. However, I feel that Angel original characters like Gunn, Fred, and Lorne are slightly underdeveloped. Gunn flounders after "That Old Gang of Mine", Fred becomes a Mary Sue, and Lorne is just ignored most of the time. I love all three characters but their development is weaker IMO. Mind you, you could argue that Giles, Tara, and Anya deserved more development on Buffy as well.
