What's Your View On Sex?

Before I start, I just want to say that I'm very aware that this thread may get heated and nasty. I'm sure the Mods can keep an eye on it, but I'm just asking everyone to try and be nice, because I'm genuinely interested in finding out everyone's opinions and I don't want it locked.

So, yeah, sex. What are your opinions/beliefs on it? Do you want to wait untill you're married? Do you think it's alright to have casual sex? One night stands? It's an interesting topic, because everyone has such a different opinion on it.

Me, I believe that sex can be whatever you want it to be. I believe that sex before marriage is fine and I think that there really should be less restrictions to it. I think sex with someone you love and are in a relationship with is wonderful and beautiful and natural.

However, I also think that casual sex with someone you know and trust is fine too. Sometimes one night with someone can be the best thing in the world. I don't believe in hooking up with someone you only just met or don't even know, but that's just me. For people who are alright with it, I'm sure it's fun.

I also think that society really needs to lift the whole "sex is bad" stigma. Sex is a wonderful part of life, whether it be a one night stand, in a relationship or with your husband or wife.

So, let's hear those opinions people.

I personally would like to wait 'til marriage, because I don't like the idea of finding my husband and telling him I've already been intimate with someone else. But I think other people can do what they like, though I'm going to respect someone more if they intend to only have sex whilst in a comitted relationship. I see it as an act of physically showing your love, so I find it hard to understand people who have casual sex or one-night stands. I have very little respect for people who sleep around with no regard for consequences at all.

I have the same belief as you about it, i just don't get the stigma some people put on having pre-marital and casual sex. One night stands are ok but protection is a must in those circumstances

I agree with you as well AngelFaith. Personally, I don't want to have sex until I've met someone I'm really in love with, someone who I can see myself marrying even if we aren't yet. I don't think I'm a casual sex kind of person, for several reasons, but I can see how it can work for some people if they have trusting relationships.

I believe sex is best between people who love each other and/or share some sort of commitment. I use the word "love" loosely here, though, because I've been in my share of "friends with benefits" relationships with actual friends and they were fine by me. That said, though, I see sex as sharing an intimate and personal part of myself, so I've only actually had sex with people I was in love with/loved later.

Of course, this is just my belief! I would never have casual sex just because I see no attraction in it, but I certainly don't condemn anyone else who does.

Had one night stands, casual sex and sex with someone I loved, so out of them, which one do I prefer. Right now, after all the stuff that's gone on, I'm mainly more interested in one night stands really. I'm a little iffy about casual, but I guess I can go with it if I must, but I don't get those who just sleep around with every single person they come across

Sex is fine, as long as it's from free will with one or several humans of any sex in their right minds (no grief, no insanity causing the sex to happen).

Casual, love making, fraking, before marriage, after marriage, whichever. Freedom, choice and fun to all.

I must say, I'm disappointed by this post. I mean, Sky posting in a thread about sex? I was so excited to look in this thread to get some lols from you, yet, tragically, I didn't.

I personally think sex in a committed relationship with someone you connect with is the best kind, and I have never had a one night stand with a stranger as the thought of being with someone I don't really know and being intimate with them kind of freaks me out, but that is more to do with my perception of myself and not liking people looking at me, and having someone I don't know that close to me. I am not against one night stands and I think everyone is free to choose to do whatever they like to do. I have had one night things but with people I know, like men I have been dating and then it doesn't go any further as a relationship, or drunken nights with a friend, stuff like that, but never a 'proper' one night stand, like meeting someone, having sex and then never seeing them again, although some of my friends do that and it doesn't bother me, it's just not for me

I'm not sure, I think if you genuinely care about someone sex is a good way of showing it but I don't believe in it for the sake of it. I also don't believe it should be an option for younger people. I see so many girls my age who have to drop out of school because they get pregnant, or who get used because they're just too young to understand.

Well, since I'm a Jesus-follower I believe that you shoulod wait until you're married, and that's what I plan to do. But I'm not one of those people who yells at others and declares them 'dirty' for having sex. Several of my friends are ratehr....sexually active and it doesn't bother me. I love them anyways.

I have alot of respect for those who choose to wait until they are married. I wish I could say that I wouldn't have sex with someone unless I loved them, or unless I knew them really well but my past record says different. I regret the few times that I have had sex.
