I think that whole 'I'm seeing someone' thing is because Willow thought Fred was interested in her, like in a girl/girl kinda way

Yes, that was not to herself. Willow thought Fred was interested in her, and felt the need to shoot her down.
I like the idea of Dawn's creation being explored more in dept. Something for a season 9 mini series perhaps?

I like the idea of Willow/Xander, I remember there was a lot of speculation that they made love after Xander saved her on the bluff at the end of Grave. I doubt Anya would have gone for it though.
Willow/Dawn would be cool though not to mention a return for Oz. Willow/Buffy of course an old favourite and I personally like Willow/Amanda

I hadn't heard that about Willow/Xander at the end of S6. It seems unlikely to me, given Willow's terrible emotional state at that moment, not to mention the complex history between those two. Xander should not pursue that at such a moment, even if she seems to be willing, even if she suggested it herself. It's not fair. It would be like taking advantage of a woman when she was drunk.
Willow/Dawn? Somebody must've done a fanfic on that though I haven't seen one. I don't like that at all. With the history they have, it would be almost like incest, and Dawn is still too young.
I still think the best alternative would probably be non-romantic. And we do need an alternative, don't forget! Willow needs something to do in S7.
