I got completely sucked in. It was one of those shows I had been meaning to get into for awhile, so I was already enthusiastic about it.

Do you remember the very first episode you watched?
Becoming Pt 2. I was a little lost, but still fell in love with everything about the show.

When did you first realize you were getting addicted to the show?
When I spent an entire weekend watching Season 5 on Fox8. They were doing a "SlayerFest" weekend.

Were there any other specific times when you felt like your interest for the show kept increasing, even to a point where you could no longer control it?
I don't think I ever lost control, but my interest just kept piquing as a watched more and more seasons.

Do you feel like the show ever jumped the shark at some point over its seven years of running?
I think they lost the plot a little during Season 7, but were saved by an awesome finale.

Which character gave you more laughs overall?
I always found Oz hilarious and Cordy too.

Was there a character you really couldn’t stand?
I could not stand Kennedy. I also had issues with Spike from Season 5 onwards.

What is your favorite female character?
Faith, no doubt about it.

What is your favorite male character?
Giles, although I also loved Angel and Angelus (I count them as two separate entities)

What relationship did you “worship” the most?
Buffy and Angel and Willow and Tara.

Willow. But not in a romantic way. They're just so closely joined.

Which death touched you the most?
Tara's. It was so quick and brutal and my heart just broke for Willow. I still get horrified by Anya's death too, it's just so brutal.

What is your favorite season and why?
Season 5. I think it has the strongest story arc and the best-written episodes (with a couple of exceptions - Into The Woods, Triangle and Listening To Fear). Plus Glory is my favourite Big Bad.

What season did you enjoy the least?
Season 4. I didn't like the Initiative storyline and just felt that some of the writing in Se4 was quite weak.

Glory

What is your favorite episode finale (or final arc of a season)?
The Gift. I just think it is so epic, so well written and superbly acted. Although Becoming comes a very close second.

Oh God, I don't know if I could pick just one. I love Faith vs Buffy in Graduation Pt 1, Buffy vs Angelus in Becoming and Buffy vs Glory in The Gift. But if I was really pressed, I would say Dark Willow vs Buffy in Two To Go.

Do you have one favorite episode?
The Gift.

Finally, what would like to add? What’s so special about BTVS?
I think it is just a completely unique TV show. It paved the way for a lot of other supernaturally-themed TV shows (not all good, however). Quite simply, I just love it!

Do you enjoy the Season 8 comics?No. I don't count them as canon and can't stand the direction all the characters have gone in.

How old were you when you watched your first Buffy episode?
I was 12 on the cusp of 13, I missed the first few episodes of season one but the hype about he show was so rampant at school that I had to watch. I remember it was the Angel episode, and of course I was hooked!

Did you like the show right away or did it take time for you to get into it?

Yes, I thought the show was exciting. It wasn't like all the other shows which were mostly boy centered and goofy. It was great to see a girl who wasn't just acting ditsy or hot on tv. And the love story wasn't forced I felt....it wasn't like the 90210 love triangles which was a breath of fresh air.

Also on a personal note my parents had just gone through a divorce and since I went to a private school I was the ONLY person who had parents that were divorced. And I remember being ostracized because being from a divorced family was like having the plague. SO ...Buffy having a single mom was something I could totally relate to and it was comforting.

Do you remember the very first episode you watched?

It was Angel because I remember the kiss. In the summer they played reruns so I got to see the first episodes that I missed from season 1.

When did you first realize you were getting addicted to the show?

Must have been when I went psycho over not being able to watch it. My mom said it was too violent and that it was on late. WHICH was a LIE it was on at 8 at night so how violent could have it been? After all I watched Melrose Place and 90210 which were full of sex, drugs and violence. Buffy was pretty tamed. So I would sneak out of my room to watch it in the basement in the dark.... haha


Were there any other specific times when you felt like your interest for the show kept increasing, even to a point where you could no longer control it?

Yes, I was consumed by the Angle & Buffy relationship. Odd thing was since my parents divorce I didn't believe in love and it was odd to be rooting for a mortal and a vampire to be together because I so strongly believed in their love. I don't think there is another TV couple quite like them. I cried so much in the episode "Surprise" because I just knew things were going to go so sour within the opening dream scene. Also when Angel left the show, I just couldn't believe it. I tried to get into season 4 but I couldn't fathom Buffy without Angel and every episode I was purely waiting for Angel to show up. And once Oz left, I had enough of the show breaking up couples. Coupled with the fact they brought in Dawn for season 5, ugh the worlds most annoying character!!! My other friends watched and kept telling me things but I insisted the show died once Buffy & Angel broke up. I only started to watch again in 2008.


Do you feel like the show ever jumped the shark at some point over its seven years of running?

Its hard to answer that, I was addicted as a teen to the show and was more able to believe certain things then. But now at 25 watching the show I'm constantly rolling my eyes BUT reminding myself to not take it so seriously. I don't buy the Spike and Buffy relationship at times. But they do show Buffy reject him as well...but I feel that originally Buffy would never go for him. I feel like she would have clung desperately to the idea of Angel OR dated mediocre humans.

Which character gave you more laughs overall?

Cordelia and Xander most definitely yet Cordelia sometimes was so mean that it was hard to laugh. Buffy had a few good one liners. Giles was a great source of humor when he was the butt of a joke.


Was there a character you really couldn’t stand?

Dawn, most annoying by far. She got in the way, it didn't seem plausible that Buffy should have a sister to me. They claim there are hints of Dawns existence prior to season 5 but I they are so subtle that they don't count. And over all the acting was poor. She would stand there shivering and weak and her screaming was so pitchy. Plus she was as tall as Buffy who is pretty short.

I never liked Tara she was boring dull and monotone. I think a person is shy only in the beginning around people but she never got past it, she seemed clumsy and slow as well. Ugh, and I just didn't buy the love between her and Willow. I have lesbian friends...its not all candles and cuddling.



What is your favorite female character?

Buffy by far. So loyal to the Buffster. And probably Cordelia a close second even though she reminded me of the mean girls at school.

What is your favorite male character?

Sick as it sounds Giles, he was the patriarch of the show. Then Angel and Xander.



What relationship did you “worship” the most?

The eternal love between Buffy & Angel. I dont want to go on and on why. Its obvious by now why!

In fact, its odd how I get annoyed in the Twilight movies since Belle is the mortal just like Buffy but they are such different people. Bella is weak and meek and I have no idea why she automatically falls for Edward.

Where as Buffy was strong and even had to send him to hell even though he came back to her. And then he came back again. Its like their love wouldn't die even while DEAD.

Yes I know vampires aren't real but the idea of letting go of a love when you know it cannot last is real. And happens to everyone at some point and it's so emotional to watch.

Which death touched you the most?

Well Joyce's death was very sad and tragic. And at least was from natural causes. I was very touched by "Lie to Me" episode where her friend Ford, even though he was a baddy...was dying from cancer. It made sense. And I just thought it was so sad. Also when that couple, her boyfriend was a mutant and abusing her...and she let his abuse go so far and he killed her and then Buffy killed the boyfriend...cannot remember the episode. Season 3 I think....but it was sad that the girl was killed from her abusive relationship.


What is your favorite season and why?

Well season 3, ever episode was great in my opinion. Perhaps more simplistic than the other season but I love simplicity.

I loved seeing the Angel relationship grow and how deeply in love they were but couldn't be together. Romeo & Juliet, star crossed lovers. Its just unrequited love which lasts forever.

They'd sacrifice anything for each other's well being, even their own love. I cried several times over many episodes. For example "Beauty & the Beasts" how even thought he's a monster he saves her. "Amends" was so sad and their heartbreaking conversation before the sunrise. Also "Earshot", "Choices" and "Prom"

I loved seeing the way Buffy took care of him & how he always was at her side. And even though they couldn't be together I think they will always love each other.


What season did you enjoy the least?
Season 5 since the addition of Dawn.

What is your favorite big bad?
Its a toss up really, Drusilla was my favorite. Faith was by far evil at the core even though she was a slayer. God I hated her when she was evil. Glory was very good too.


What is your favorite episode finale (or final arc of a season)?
Graduation day 2.

What is your favorite fight?
Odd, but I liked the fight in the ep "Helpless" I liked that she didn't have her powers and had to rely on her wits. And I remember being oh so very scared thinking "NO WAY is she gonna win!" Yet the holy water was so clever...maybe too easy but meh. But there are SOO many!

I liked the Buffy/Spike fight in the Harsh Light of Day

Do you have one favorite episode?

So many. BUT "Surprise" its the most romantic and I get so tearful over that episode still. Especially when they confess their love and how Angel tries to stop but can't. Also a close second is "When she was Bad" since I found it great to see the bitchy side of Buffy. And there is the sexy dance between her and Xander. Just great, seen them so many times.


Finally, what would like to add? What’s so special about BTVS?
That I can't see why Angel & Buffy couldnt have one more seaons together!? I think they had more to explore...but I suppose its best they didn't ruin a good thing.

Honestly haven't read.... I grew out of comics when I was 10.

I don't remember how i felt about it a first, since i was five, but i know that i couldn't look out a window for years after Hush and when i started watching the episodes again i knew a lot of what was going to happen and some of my fondest memories of my dad is from us watching Buffy.

I don't remember if i was addicted when i was a kid but when i started watching it again like a year ago or two... I realized i was addicted when i called my mom an lied i was sick and couldn't go to school, just so i could watch Buffy x'd.

When i watched the gift and knew there where 2 more seasons and stilled cried when Buffy died.

season 4 brought up many interesting episodes and so did season 6. but i think i am a rare one, i loved the 7th season.

Season 1 i think. Joss was trying to you know find the show's direction and stuff. I always think the first season of Whedon shows are worse than the others, so i can't imagine how Awesome the second season of Firefly would have been.

Um,yes...When they showed Seeing Red on TV i was crying insanely and my sister said 'oh willow'll use magic' (mind you we had to wait a week to see if she lived or not hah guess who was wrong?)

Hell to the No...i hate them they make me want to just start a fan season 8 so badly because they suck...so much...for people who 1) think buffy shouldn't kill willow 2) think Xander should finally get someone 3)hate angel and or spike 4) just think kennedy needs to GTFO willow and stop being creepily clingy 5)want dawn to be semi-likeable 6)don't ship Xanwn 7) hate when buffy sleeps with people that were just introduced 11 issues ago...

My sister used to watch it all the time when I was younger but at the time, vampires scared the crap out of me so I said no way. When I got into high school though and started watching it, I got into it immediately.

Do you remember the very first episode you watched?
I remember it like it was yesterday. I was sick staying home from school and I was surfing through the channels and came to FX. There was this weird show where people were fighting a demon in an alley way. It was season six episode one, "Bargaining Part Two."

When did you first realize you were getting addicted to the show?
It didn't take me long to realize it. Pretty much the second or third episode into watching the sixth season I knew it. I could not stop watching it, I ended buying the sixth season on DVD and watched it all in one day. I loved it!

Were there any other specific times when you felt like your interest for the show kept increasing, even to a point where you could no longer control it?
I wanna say probably when I was watching season 7. That whole storyline was just so epic to me, I kept getting sucked into it more and more. By the end of that season I needed more, and because I was super special and started with season six and saw the finale, I decided it was time for me to see how it all started.

Do you feel like the show ever jumped the shark at some point over its seven years of running?
Not at all. I felt like every season transitioned nicely. And I love season 4, although I hear that not everyone loves that season but it is one of my favorite seasons to watch because it is a transitioning season. So I have to say overall, the show flowed nicely.

Which character gave you more laughs overall?
Oh that is a tough one. Each character had their moments. I would have to say a cross between Willow and Anya. I especially love it when you put the two together like in the episode, "Triangle."

Was there a character you really couldn’t stand?
I would have to say Kennedy. I don't know, there was just something about her that I didn't like. She pissed me off for lack of a better term.

What is your favorite female character?
That's going to have to be a tie between three characters: Buffy, Willow and Tara. I love all three of them and all of them had their moments.

What is your favorite male character?
I have to say, Andrew maybe. He was hilarious in season 7.

What relationship did you “worship” the most?
I wanna say Willow and Tara's relationship. It transitioned through every stage. It started out as friendship, then grew into the innocence of being in love, then became very powerful in the end.

Which death touched you the most?
That is a tough one, because both Joyce and Tara's death touched me. Joyce's was so simple, yet at the same time it was one of the most intense and horrible episodes to watch. Tara's death was so cruel, but she was such a presence on the show, especially in season 6.

What is your favorite season and why?
I wanna say season 4. Many people hate season 4 but I loved it. It has so many memorable episodes and it is in my opinion overall the funniest season. I love transitioning seasons or episodes because its so different than what you are used to.

What season did you enjoy the least?
Maybe season 6? It was very dark, all the characters were at their all time low. However, I still loved it.

What is your favorite big bad?
Glory hands down. She was hilarious and awesome!

Definitely season 7 finale. That had to be one of the most epic battles I had ever seen and the music? Kudos to Robert Duncan man, it was awesome!

I have to say season 7, the episode, "Showtime." Buffy's battle against the Turok Han was freakin awesome!

Do you have one favorite episode?
Once More With Feeling. I love musicals, absolutely love them!

Finally, what would like to add? What’s so special about BTVS?
I love the fact that it's a story about a girl for a change. A girl who has the power to make a difference. You always see the male protagonist and the female victim. It was nice to see a change in the roles.

Do you enjoy the Season 8 comics?
Probably not as much as the show itself but the fact that Buffy is still living on makes me a happy camper.

It was "Welcome to the Hellmouth". I can't really remember the details, mostly because I was so excited, haha. But, I do know, that it left me wanting more. ;D

When did you first realize you were getting addicted to the show?
Not too sound crazy, but, I think I was already addicted when I found out that it was going to start airing in my country. A teenage girl protecting the world from evil? It just seemed like it was made for me! ;D
You see, even as a kid, I never understood fairy tales. I always wondered why the princess had to wait for the prince to come and save her, when she could've just saved herself! So, when, I heard about BTVS, my first thought was: "See, I was right! Girls can do the rescuing as well! HA!"
And my addiction only grew stronger through the years.

Were there any other specific times when you felt like your interest for the show kept increasing, even to a point where you could no longer control it?
I think it was when Spike had that Buffy dream. They looked so right together, so perfect, I just wanted that dream to become reality. I really don't like spoilers, but, for the first time, I actually went online to see what was going to happen. I just needed to know, lol!

Do you feel like the show ever jumped the shark at some point over its seven years of running?
No, not really.

Which character gave you more laughs overall?
Tough one...Spike had me giggle like crazy, but, I think I'm going to go with Anya and Andrew.

Was there a character you really couldn’t stand?
Rona. Didn't like her the first time I watched BTVS, still don't like her now. She's actually the only one character I'd like to slap around. Just thinking about "Empty Places", gets me really annoyed. Am I the only one shouting at the screen: "Shut up!" whenever she spoke? I hope not, haha.

What is your favorite female character?
It's hard for me to chose between Buffy and Tara. I love Buffy for her strength, her courage and Tara's one of the kindest characters I've ever seen. These are the women I admire the most on BTVS and I simply can't choose between them.

What is your favorite male character?
Spike, 100% Spike. His journey is so fascinating and he's such a complex character, I can't help but loving him.

What relationship did you “worship” the most?
Spuffy all the way! They both helped each other grow as people, and, he actually went and got a soul just to be the man she deserves. I simply adore these two together (especially in season 7)!

Willow’s soul mate?
Tara.

Xander’s soul mate?
A while back, I would've said Anya. Now, I'm not so sure...Hmm, guess the jury is still out on this one.

Which death touched you the most?
Another tough one! I have to say Tara. The entire scene was so sad, and the fact that her and Willow had just gotten back together, makes the whole thing even sadder.

What is your favorite season and why?
My favourite season tends to change according to my mood, lol. Right, now, I'd have to say season 5, because it's the one I'm most looking forward to for when I'm going to do the next Buffy marathon.

What season did you enjoy the least?
I'm going to go with season 3 on this one, just because it's so hard for me to watch Faith going all evil. I still like the season, though.

5-7-6-4-2-3-1 (though, this might change soon enough, haha)

Glory!! She's just awesome! ;D

The Spuffy-er in me would like to say "Chosen", but, "The Gift" means a lot to me.I still cry every time I watch it.

Any fight between Buffy and Glory! These two really know how to kick some butt and still look pretty!

Restless! It's so weird, yet, it makes so much sense and I love the little hints for what's to come next! Plus, I find the directing simply fascinating!

Finally, what would like to add? What’s so special about BTVS?
Whetever I laugh, or cry or yell at the screen, BTVS always makes me feel something. The characters, their relationships seem so real to me, they've actually become part of me. I have yet to feel this strongly about another tv series.

I just read the comics recently and I'm not really happy with what's going on. I guess, I'm going to wait and see.

I watched it religiously when it was on TV. But it’s only over the last couple of years that I’ve realised and admitted that I’m a Buffyholic. I’ve been constantly rewatching the show since it finished, either on video, TV repeats or on DVD. Also, when I’m feeling low I tend to turn to the Bufster and co. to cheer me up. Always works.

I don't think it’s ever gotten out of hand, though some of my friends might disagree. Luckily most of them are fans too…just not quite as obsessive as I am. Heh.

Season 4. I never was a fan of the Adam/Initiative stuff although season 4 still has some classic episodes including Hush, A New Man and Restless.

Buffy vs. Angelus in Becoming Part 2 for the emotional impact. But one of the best staged fights is the awesome demon smack down in season 3 opener Anne. It’s quite brilliant.

The Body (even though I can hardly watch it) followed by Hush and OMWF and Doppelgangland.

Finally, what would like to add? What’s so special about BTVS?
Buffy is Buffy. It‘s one of a kind. It’s incredibly smart, incredibly silly, incredibly emotional, incredibly honest, incredibly funny, incredibly painful….sometimes all at once. It also has the best ensemble of characters ever on TV and writing to match. I truly feel as if the Scoobies are real people. To me they are like old friends who I miss and always want to go back and revisit. Simply, Buffy is the best.

Do you enjoy the Season 8 comics?
Yep. It’s Joss and a lot of the show’s original writers so what’s not to love? Some arcs are better than others and I’m a bit lost by everything that’s going on now with Twilight and Seeds etc. But, hey, it’s Buffy. And Joss’s Buffy at that. So count me happy.

It took me a few episodes to really get into it, and I only started obsessing over it after watching the episode "passion."

After I watched passion and started yelling "oh my god!" at the screen and at my friend who showed it to me. Then I started borrowing her DVDs to bring home and marathoned the rest of the series in about 2 months

The last few episodes of season 6 really piqued my love for the show. But, I have been consistently obsessed with it since passion, to the point where all of my friends really want me to shut up about it, and I absolutely HAD to go to New England Comic Con to go see some of the cast members in person.

7, I thought that there was too much focus on the potential slayers and it took away from the main cast that I had come to love. I don't like Willow with Kennedy. Willow, Xander, and Dawn had pretty much nothing to do the whole season. I got extremely bored of the Summers house.
