The first 11 issues were all strong and sadly the best of the comics. I guess I'd go with No Future for You as the best most focused arc.
I don't get the love for Wolves at the Gate with giant robot Dawn stomping around Tokyo, Dracula (did anyone like him on the show?), or the idea that Xander went to stay with Dracula and kept in touch with him. Hopefully that's Andrew telling stories again, but who knows. Then there's Batsu (pretty random) and the obvious choice of killing another one of Xander's girlfriends.
The comics never fully recovered after that. It felt like a side story anyway. Vamps want the scythe, Buffy gets it back. The end. And yes I know I simplified it a little, but not much. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but how much of that four issue arc had a point in the overall scheme of things? Maybe it's still to come, but as of now I think a lot of it could have been skipped. Time will tell.

On PSN it's a dollar last I checked. I'm not paying two dollars on amazon though. Not sure I'll buy anymore anyway.

Good interview, but the more I hear, the less excited I am about it all. I'm feeling some fatigue with season 8, and I was a lot more interested in it 2 or 3 years ago. I'm sticking with it though, still a fun read for what it is, I'm just not as invested.
Season 9 doesn't sound like it will be as focused as I had hoped, and I really doubt Whedon will be around much for it. I barely feel his presence in season 8. I find it strange that there's going to be loose ends with season 8. They had plenty of time to address plot elements in the last 35 issues, standalones, and online comics. Alan Moore can fit a lot of content into one issue alone and make it work.
Maybe a few weeks from now with the next issue I'll feel excited about it again. Sometimes I feel like it's the last thing on Whedon's mind though, and he's more interested in other projects.

Sith? Wow, that kills me, but it's not like the actual comic book hasn't had some serious screw ups as well. I'm looking at you Warren and the Retreat arc. And Buff.

Thanks wenxina, very informative. I stopped reading IDW's comics about a year ago, so I'd rather they didn't tie anything in with Buffy. I feel too far behind with IDW's comics, and I thought they were really overusing the property and the stories were getting weaker with each issue. I couldn't keep up with it, and much of it wasn't canon or too confusing to understand what was canon and not canon. It felt like homework.

Here's hoping it was simply untrue. I'd hate to believe he did anything like that. Was she getting the texts from him before this car ride? Why would she go anywhere with him alone if he was harrassing her before this? Or was this the first moment that set off his supposed terrible behavior?

I would need proof on this one. Anything can be said about anyone, and we make people famous like mistresses giving them covers to magazines, pay outs up to 10 million, and reality shows.
I just find it strange the person accusing him of this waited in the car while he supposedly did that. Ehhhh...it's a little strange.
I have trouble believing anything anymore. I would hope that it's beyond untrue, but then again he did cheat. I just know you can be accused of anything and quickly, really tarnishing someones image even if it's flat out untrue. Time will tell.

You really read that or took it the wrong way. I was only asking if you were buying all of this stuff like a lot of fans, myself included. Wow. I don't know where you got the idea that I think I'm superior, maybe I just can't express myself properly. I'll work on that. Sorry.

Is it weird that I almost want these? I wonder how long these will be around before they stop selling them.

Oh great, the mistress defender Gloria Allred is attached to this.

wenxina, you bought the season 8 comics as they came out right? Did you buy the TPB's? Will you be buying the definitive versions that will eventually come out? If so, that's redundant as well. I'm buying them all, including the motion comic. I personally love all this stuff.

There's only dialogue bubbles when a character is thinking and not speaking out loud. I think. I'd have to rewatch it.

There's quite a few lines cut, and I can remember at least one that's altered to make it a shorter line.

I enjoyed it. After reading the comics over and over the last few years it's nice to see them in a different way. The voice acting is okay, and I didn't expect them to sound like the actors from the show anyway, so it's fine. It's been over seven years, the cast has moved on, so I'll take what I can get.

I can't help but still wonder what actor had a problem with the tarot cards. I still want those. Very good article, I've heard about the connections, and it's beyond similar. Pretty interesting. I skipped over most of the more opinionated stuff near the end involving season 8 though.

I'm not really big on motion comics, but the Astonishing one wasn't so bad. I've seen anime where you look at a still image forever. In some ways the motion comic had more movement than some of the anime I've seen heh. On Family Guy they'll repeat animation over and over to overuse a joke and to avoid having to do more animation.
It is strange we haven't seen anything of this yet though, I wonder if it's terribly done. If it's decent, I'll support it, there's only so many Buffy related things to look forward to anymore. Could be interesting enough. I felt kind of against this before, but I think this long break with the comics has driven me insane.

I stopped reading the Angel comics about a year ago. They just fell apart and I wasn't enjoying them at all. I can't believe I even got through Aftermath. I'm sticking with Buffy season 8 though, even through the frustrations they are interesting.

Yeah I have this issue. Honestly Homer deserves the number one spot to me. The Simpsons is still running 21 years later, and The Simpsons have had a huge impact. It's understandable he's at the top.
Buffy is the highest ranked female which is great, but EW has always loved Buffy. No Veronica Mars? Tsk tsk. Also nice to see Dexter on there.
In the issue Joss Whedon says nice things about Sarah.

Welcome to the Hellmouth when it originally aired. While watching it I was doing math homework. And I didn't become an instant fan, it wasn't until later the show started to really impress me. And to think that was 13 years ago already...

Hm. That five page preview didn't do much for me, and there wasn't a lot of dialogue. This may be a fast read. Or a faster read than usual.
